Thyroid diseases are among the most common disorders of the endocrine system, affecting almost 13 million Americans alone. Unfortunately, the symptoms of thyroid disease are often overlooked or confused with other conditions.
International Thyroid Awareness Week was established as part of a campaign led by the Thyroid Federation International (TFI), and supported by the European Thyroid Association (ETA) and the Latin American Thyroid Society (LATS). This campaign aims to increase awareness of thyroid disease and educate patients on recognizing symptoms for proper diagnosis. Siemens is proud to be a co-sponsor of this important worldwide campaign this year, along with Merck.
As your partner in thyroid testing, Siemens Healthcare offers a full portfolio of thyroid tests to enable fast and accurate diagnosis of thyroid disease. We support the Thyroid Federation International’s goal of working with medical professionals to promote awareness and understanding of thyroid disorders and their complications. As part of International Thyroid Awareness Week, Siemens would like to invite you to attend a complimentary educational webinar “Thyroid Function Testing in Pregnancy”. This webinar will provide current information on the aspects of thyroid testing for optimal reproductive health.
· Explain the changes in thyroid hormone production during pregnancy and how thyroid dysfunction affects maternal-fetal health and pregnancy outcomes
· Discuss the differences in thyroid hormone reference intervals throughout pregnancy
· Review current guidelines on thyroid testing related to pregnancy and fetal health.
